ABOUT THE RETREAT

10 night / 10 day all inclusive retreat:

10 days of yoga and meditation at a beautiful family run eco-village lodge with stunning views of the Himalayas.  A retreat where you will leave you feeling fed and nurtured on every level.
Everyone is welcome. Variations of postures and individual attention are given.

Venue:  Set at the top a traditional Nepalese village, eco-village is surrounded by rice terraces, traditional farming, and jungle and enjoys spectacular views of the Annapurna, Mardi Himal and Machhapuchhre ranges of the Himalayas.  You can walk for as long or short as you wish surrounded by stunning scenery and views.
On arrival, you’ll be greeted and looked after by an exceptionally warm and friendly family making you to feel at home during your stay. The greeting drink of eco-tea is delicious!
There are communal tasks such as gathering chamomile flowers, shelling peas, picking coffee or simply immerse into the calming rhythm of rural and traditional life.
It’s an area rich in diverse birdlife so bring binoculars if you’re keen on birds! Fabulous views of rich and colourful sunrises and sunsets.
Situated about 45 minutes by jeep outside Pokhara. Access is limited by dirt road so the sound of cars is rare.

Yoga Classes:  Take place in the mornings and afternoons in the spacious yoga shala where often just the sound of birds is heard.
The yoga style is traditional Hatha. Lucy will guide you through classes that warm up gently and develop in strength with a focus on alignment and movement of energy within the body. There is both fluidity of movement and holding postures to explore and build awareness, strength, and flexibility.  Awareness of the breath is integrated throughout each practice.
All levels of your experience are catered for including beginners. Students are challenged according to their level of experience and variations are given to accommodate different requirements. This guides you to develop an intelligent and accessible practice.
Whatever your level of yoga practice, consideration and care is given to each student.
There will also be workshops that will encourage exploration and ‘going deeper inquiry’ into different aspects of yoga and meditation.

An example of a day / A guide to daily retreat schedule

6.30am    Morning yoga & meditation
8.30am    Breakfast
9.30am    Relax/walk around the local village and countryside/yoga workshop
1.00pm    Lunch
2.00pm    Relax/walk around the local village and countryside/on-site activities
4.00pm    Afternoon yoga
6.30pm    Dinner

Included throughout the retreat will be several Yoga Nidras, guided deep relaxation, usually either before lunch or after dinner depending on the group.
There will be plenty of time to relax in the gardens or wander and explore the beautiful local surrounding area.

Accommodation:  Twin share basis. Rooms are either 2 single beds or 1 double and 1 single bed, ideal for coming with a friend, sharing with another solo guest or couple.
Single occupancy supplement ($1000), limited number available.
All rooms have their own ensuite bathroom with western toilet. Showers are taken by a bucket of hot water which is surprisingly lovely!! (please note water is solar heated so the water temperature does vary.)

Food:  Delicious vegetarian traditional Nepalese food cooked in their super clean kitchen with devotion and joy! Eco Village grows many of their own organic vegetables, grains, coffee, herbal teas, fresh cows milk curd.
Most dietary requirements can be accommodated.

The retreat price includes:

  • 10 nights accommodation
  • Jeep transfers from and to Pokhara airport to our accommodation
  • Morning and afternoon yoga & meditation
  • Yoga Nidra / deep relaxation
  • Yoga workshops – exploring deeper elements of yoga practice
  • All delicious vegetarian meals – breakfast, lunch & dinner
  • Safe drinking water, tea and coffee
  • Local activities: basket weaving, Mothers group visit of traditional Nepalese music and dance

Not included:

  • International and domestic flights
  • Nepalese visa
  • Travel insurance
  • Alcoholic or soft drinks
  • Laundry

Payment Terms:  A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to confirm and secure your place, subject to availability. The balance is due no less than 6 weeks prior to the event (to be received by Sunday 9th February 2020). You will be sent a reminder 7 weeks before.
You may also pay in full at the time of booking if you prefer.
Bookings made less than 6 weeks prior to the event must be paid in full at the time of booking.
Payment is accepted by PayPal, credit card or direct bank transfer.
If you are paying by bank transfer, payment is made electronically to Lucy Andrews, BSB: 732 095, AC: 576603.  Please use your full name as your transfer reference.

How to get there:  Fly to Pokhara airport or jeep if you are already in Nepal staying in another area.
Please note that local flights in Nepal can get delayed or cancelled due to weather changes. Some people may opt to arrive in Pokhara a night or two before so you can settle into the time zone before beginning the retreat. You can fly from Kathmandu international airport on the day of the retreat or have a night or two in Pokhara first to know you’re in the area!
Once your flight is booked and travel plans made email us your flight details and we will organise your jeep pickup.

Arrival Day:  Airport or hotel pick up within the Pokhara area. Check in times are flexible and you will be warmly greeted with a friendly smile and organic eco tea with space to rest and relax.
The first yoga class of the retreat will begin at 4pm.

Departure Day:  Morning yoga followed by our ‘last breakfast’.
Check out time is flexible and can be decided nearer the time.
Jeep transfer to Pokhara airport or Pokhara local area is included.

If you are trekking at altitude it is advised that you have travel insurance that includes helicopter rescue.

Nepalese Visa – A visa is required to enter Nepal. This can be processed on arrival at Kathmandu airport or prior to your departure at a Nepalese Consulate. Arranging this prior to departure will save queue time delays upon your arrival.
